Hari Om Parents,
As you all know, we had house spirit day activities today and so had a short lesson.
We started the class with Om chanting and opening prayers. We then proceeded to today's lesson - Nine modes of devotion. We briefly explained the nine modes with relevant examples and pictures.
Listening to the stories about the Lord - Sravanam
Singing the glories of the Lord - Kirtanam
Remembering the Lord always - Smaranam
Serving the Lord - Padasevanam
Worshipping the Lord - Archanam
Bowing down to the Lord - Vandanam
Being a servant of the Lord - Dasyam
Loving the Lord as a friend - Sakhyam
Surrendering yourself unto the Lord - Atmanivedanam
We then did Gita chanting. We learnt shlokas 23,24 and 25, and this marks the completion of the assigned shlokas for 3rd grade. We are going to start practising from Shloka 1 again, so the kids get the pronunciation right. We asked the kids to practice the first two shlokas before the next class. They can practice more if interested. Please encourage them to practice at least Shlokas 1 and 2 before next class. The link to today's video is Verses 23-25 Ch.2 - YouTube.
We continued to our spirit day activity, a scavenger hunt. The kids had to run around and pick up a few things within 5 minutes and show them to us. We all then joined the main meeting for other activities and scores.
We hope you and the kids enjoyed the activities today.
We look forward to seeing the kids in the next class.
Pranaam,
Vasudha & Neelima
