Hari Om Parents!

Today was the fifteenth class of Balavihar!! Here is the summary of what we covered in class today:

After everyone joined the Zoom session:

1.  We started the class with Opening prayers by chanting Om three times and then we all together chanted Sahana vavatu, All kids were dressed in Blue, as we belong to Krishna's Cowboys as part of House Spirit Day activities.

2.  We introduced the letter of the day 'N'- it stands for Nobility - is upholding high moral standards and strong character. And that we can be noble by taking care of others and putting others needs first.

3.In the Brainstorming session we discussed Noble people like Mahatma Gandhi, Mother Teresa, Martin Luther King, Abraham Lincoln etc. - who lived many years ago and did many Noble deeds and helped mankind. And we can develop noble qualities by learning from them.

3. Through the story of the Other Shoe - which shows the noble actions of Mahatma Gandhi, we learnt how our simple thoughtful actions can be of great help to others.

4. Then Attendance was taken by each kid saying Hari Om when their name was called out.

5. During Story time, through the story of Noble Cow - we learnt that being truthful and righteous is always rewarding, And we should show compassion towards all.

6. Then through the story of Mother Teresa - we learnt she had Compassion towards all and created many charities to help the poor, sick and helpless people and little children.

7. Then we together practiced Hanuman Bhajan.

8. For next class, we identified few kids who will lead opening prayers, bhajans and closing prayers to motivate kids to learn!

9. As its House Spirit Day, we had parents join the session with kids at 10:10, to help understand the Scavenger Hunt game, its categories, and rules. And then we gave them five minutes time to gather items in each category.  Kids excitedly went to collect the different items.

10. After five minutes, kids showed each of the items they collected for each category when we went over each category. And pictures were taken , along with a count of the kids having the right item for each category. And provided it to the House Co-coordinators.

11. And then we all joined the Main Session, for rest of the House Spirit Day Activities

12.Kids enjoyed the Scavenger Hunt and overall a very exciting session, all kids actively happily participated with parents.

And thank you parents for sitting through the session to help the kids and for your participation. And for making sure kids are dressed in Blue.

Have a wonderful week ahead!!
