June 4, 2021 - Grade 5 (Friday)

Hari Om! Parents,

Week 27, our last Balavihar class, began with deep breathing, Rama Nama japa, followed by Om chanting and "Sahana vavatu". The children took turns to chant "Sri Ganesha Stavah" and "Sri Ganesha Pancharatnam" (My Prayers book pg. 28 & 30 ).

Saints of India

After hearing about so many inspiring stories of the many Saints of India, the class had written down core values they had learnt in their introspection journal. Today the children did a "sticky note activity" on values they will try to practice in the future. Here is what they shared with us: https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1x_H-ahmP6x0imrM1MmNlAvlLj2Gcgk9oDLgsn0ERw5Q/edit?usp=sharing . Please remind your child to keep updating their introspection journal over summer.

Mahabharata

The class was split into boys vs girls, then they played a fun game of  "Who am I?". One child was assigned a Mahabharata character, had to give clues and his team had to guess the name. The teams did really well, but the boys were the fastest and won! Next the children went over the main events that took place in each of the four Parva - Adi, Sabha, Vana and Virata, of the Mahabharata story. After this refresher of the story, the class took a Mahabharata Review quiz on Wordwall.  The children played a Spymaster game for some time. Our last class for the year ended with Aarti, Shanti mantra and Pledge (Balavihar Handbook pg. 26-30)

We would like to thank all the parents for your support throughout this year. We will miss seeing the children! Enjoy a safe summer!
