May 9, 2021 - Shishu Vihar (Sunday AM)

Hari Om Parents,
Below is a recap of what we did during today's class.

We began another delightful Sunday morning of Shishu Vihar, with our cute kids' faces and their families popping up on our screens. They were all dressed up and ready for our Gurudev Paaduka Pooja! We had requested our families to join us a little bit early today as we had a very special day planned. Once we had most of our friends join our session, we began our class with 3 OMs, Om Saha Navavatu and Om Sri Ganeshaya Namaha, Om Sri Saraswathyai Namaha and Om Sri Sat Gurubhyo Namaha.

We wished all our Super Awesome Moms a very Happy Mothers Day!

Then we briefly discussed what we would be doing during the Paaduka Pooja. Then we talked about collective prayer and how we all would love for everything to be back to normal and we could be back in the ashram in person for Shishuvihar.

The kids were then asked what they had prepared for today's pooja. They all took turns and some said flowers and plate, some said fruits, others said feet, some said candles, lamps and bells. Then the kids were asked who's picture they had. With a little bit of prompting, a few said Chinmaya. Then the kids were told that He is Gurudev and that we are celebrating His 105th Jeyanthi and this Paaduka Pooja is in His honor. As we are in the middle of lessons relating to Rama, Hanuman and Ramayana, we would be discussing Gurudev in detail in our future classes.

The kids were then told that we would be performing the Paaduka Pooja with the guidance of the priest from our ashram, and will be following along. We joined the rest of the Sunday morning session for the pooja. Below are a few of our families performing Paaduka Pooja. Inline image

Once the pooja concluded, we had the 2nd, 3rd, 8th graders and JCHYKs present their learnings. We all enjoyed the amazing performances that they put on! Super impressive!!!

We concluded our slightly long session with The Chinmaya Mission Pledge.
