This week was special as we performed Guru Paadukaa Pooja celebrating the 105th birth anniversary of Gurudev Chinmayananda.
It was followed by class presentations from various grades. We were entertained by presentations from second graders, third graders, eighth graders, and our very own JCHYK group.
In our presentation, our students summarized 4 of the 6 chapters of Geeta that we have learnt this year.
Our overview of Chapter 13 covered the difference between kshetra and kshetrajna, while Chapter 14 covered the three gunas – rajas, tamas, and sattva. Chapter 15 discussed the nature of reality and the need for detachment, while Chapter 16 covered the divine and demonic qualities. We had divided the class into four groups and each group was asked to present their understanding of the chapters. They had to work with their teams out of class and record their team's work together. They all brought their own unique take to their assigned chapters using different modes of presentations! Teachers were only guides. We did NOT help them with the script, ideas, or recordings. We were super impressed by the end result and Swamiji applauded their efforts and understanding of the topics too!
