Apr 25, 2021 - Grade 6 (Sunday PM)

Hari OM,
This week we started our class with prayers.
  • We then discussed our Class movie that we were going to present during the Class Program. Some of the students were interested in seeing the final version of the movie during the class, but we decided that it would be more fun to watch it with the entire Sunday PM BV classes along with Swamiji!
  • We then spent the rest of the shortened class reviewing the Mahabharata - Kurukshetra war. We watched some video clips to remember what happened on all the important days of the war. We will resume with Day 18 of the war in our next class.
  • After this class, we joined the Monthly Program along with the rest of the students from other Sunday PM BV classes including Swamiji and the parents. First, Grade 3 did their presentation on the Importance of Balavihar and what's taught in the classroom. It was a very nice presentation. This was followed by our class (Grade 6) presentation of a movie on Mahabharata where Dharma beats Adharma with help from Lord Krishna. This presentation included 3 episodes:
  • Episode 1 was on the The Dice Game where Kauravas use Adharma to trick the Pandavas to lose everything including their kingdom. However the Pandavas had Lord Krishna's grace who protected Draupadi's honor.
  • Episode 2 described how Bhima met Hanuman during the Pandavas exile in the forest. This episode demonstrated that humility is necessary alongwith with prowess for a Dharmic way of life.
  • Episode 3 was about Lord Krishna and Arjuna and included preparation for the Kurukshetra war and described how Lord Krishna followed Dharma in letting Arjuna choose between Himself or his vast army. This episode also included the Bhagavad Gita.
  • We are very happy to note that all the 15 students in our class participated in the production of this movie including writing the script, narration, playing the many characters and also helping with pre-production. The class worked very hard on this movie project. We had lot's of limitations because we could not meet in person and had to depend on online technology to complete this project. We received a lot of positive feedback from Swamiji and also from other teachers and parents for our presentation!

Pranaams!
