Hari Om! Parents,
Happy Mahasivaratri to everyone
We started class with starting prayers, meditation and Namasthe Astu...
We also learned and chanted verses 12 to 18 from Chapter 2 of the Bhagavad Gita.
We explored the value of worship-
Matru Devo Bhavah, Pitru Devo Bhavah, Acharya Devo Bhavah and Atithi
Devo bhavah.
It was a highly interactive class as all of us shared memories of the
most impactful teachers we've had. We enumerated the qualities in a
teacher we admire. It was inspiring to hear students remember with
gratitude and fondness kindergarten teachers, middle school, LA, Math,
SS teachers. Qualities like kindness, being chill, making all laugh,
playing games, being good listeners do resonate with them- these are
pointers to us, the adults in their lives.
The next value we are looking at is Daanam- what are some things we
can give, how to give and more importantly- why give. That is the
reflection question for the week.
Students shared that they can give support, respect, help, prayers,
gifts, time, kindness, love, a better day.
We will be continuing this discussion in our next class.
Shlokathon registration deadline is approaching- for those who
like/want to chant.
Geeta chanting deadline is also approaching- this year onward, they
can read . They don't have to chant from memory. This is a great way to
introduce oneself to Gurudev's cherished work.We have offered the
children our time and help to prepare to read.
Our next BV class is on March 12th
