Mar 5, 2021 - Grade 7 (Friday)

Hari Om Dear Parents,

Here is this week's update: Mar 5th 2021
Likhita Japa, Opening Prayers, Dhyana Shloka

Keys to Success :

After a quick recap of last class, we started discussing about how we gather knowledge of the outside world through our five senses.

Mind - Flow of thoughts. It will take the course depending upon the impression we have created over the years. In order to keep our minds focussed on higher goals, we need to sharpen our minds like we sharpen instruments. We went over subjective and objective minds.

Vasanas - Wrong impression created in mind by past actions. These result in farthering subjective and objective minds. Bigger the gab, greater is the confusion and hence our resulting actions will be more upsetting.
Examples/Stories discussed - Leo Tolstoy, Farmer and Watch, Aversion to a subject in school

Changing our behavior
 - Attuning our minds to focus (Stories - Coins and cricket sound)
 - Do not grab more than you can chew (Story - Eagle and fish)
 - Unagitated Calm mind

Boomerang - We discussed how if we dont change our behavior, like a boomerang it will come back to us.
Eg. - 'What we sow is what we reap'; 'what goes around comes around'

Bhagavad Gita : Chapter 2 verses 25, 26, 27, 28
Kids followed and repeated after Swamiji's chanting of verses 25, 26, 27, 28.
We also revised verses 5-8. One of the kids led chanting and the rest of the class followed.

Aarthi and Pledge
We wrapped our class with Aarthi, Closing Prayers and Pledge

Next Class : Mar 12th

Thanks and Hari Om
