Hari Om Parents,
Welcome to week 23 of Balavihar 2020-2021 KG Sunday PM session. Today we completed discussing the last line of the pledge and children are slowly learning to read the pledge by themselves. Though it is going to take the class a couple of more sessions to get better at it, we have a wonderful group of kids, demonstrating their willingness to step up, follow the instructions, repeat and learn the words.

We revised the last few lines of the pledge that we discussed in our previous session: "We believe that the service of our country is the service of the Lord of Lords, and devotion to the people is the devotion to the Supreme Self". We discussed the story of the Priest, whose pooja prasad was snatched away by the street dog. Yet he did not get upset as he saw God in everyone including animals. We also discussed all the different ways we could serve our country and community.
We completed the last line of the pledge today: "We know our responsibilities; give us the ability and courage to fulfil them." We discussed the story of the little girl who learnt responsibility after getting a boon from God to do all her work by someone else, but losing her freedom in return. And we discussed Courage by revisiting the story of the Bhakt Prahlad and how he was courageous in dealing with his evil father.
Then we spent a lot of time revising the class play and ensuring all the children are reciting their lines from the script. It would be great if they can practice their lines at home as well.
We continued watching the Hanuman movie and discussing the story in class:15 min watching followed by 5 min discussion.
We closed out with our closing prayer & Aarti .
Next Session Agenda
We will revise and practice all pledge lines, and revise the script with actions for our annual performance and do two craft (coloring) pages
