Hari Om! Parents,
We started class with starting prayers and a beautiful meditation on
the Sat aspect of Satchidananda.
Next was the third verse of Shiva Manasa Pooja Stotram
Our lesson was how to apply the Mahavakyas in our lives so that we are
blessed and benefited by the knowledge.
The delightful story of parrots mimicking a friendly ornithologist's
warning about a hunter proved the point that just as the parrots
knowing and repeating the warning did them no good, merely knowing or
mere lip service of what the scriptures or the Masters say is no good
to us.
A vigorous, honest discussion unfolded about how to apply "Pragyanam
Brahma"- with students asking questions like - how can humans and God
be one, I follow Dvaita marga, so I consider myself separate from
Bhagwan.
We examined examples like clay and pot, ocean and waves to bring home
the point that in essence, the Reality of all that exists is One,
though appearances, names and forms may differ. Connecting back to Sat
Aspect which was our anchor for meditation.
Due to the infinite nature of Brahman, Reality, we tend to get caught
up in small silos of our limited thought and we mistakenly assume that
what we experience is Truth.
The story of the six blind men and the elephant was a great reminder
of this point.

We concluded with a game about 16 steps of Pooja. We need to lessen
the levels as the game keeps going and is too fast.
The next Balavihar is on May 7. We will be doing Paduka Pooja of Pujya
Gurudev with your children after the class.
