Hari Om Parents!
Today was the twentyfirst class of Balavihar!! Here is the summary of what we covered in class today:
After everyone joined the Zoom session:
1. We started the class with Opening prayers. We all chanted Om three times and then chanted Sahana vavatu.
2. Some of the kids sang the bhajans we learnt so far- Ganesh, Krishna and Hanuman and we practiced together both the Ram bhajans.
3. For today's class we discussed the next letter 'Q' - Quiet- is to be tranquil, calm, and undisturbed. It is a state of calmness of.
4. During the Brainstorming session, we discussed, Why is it good to be quiet at times? When we are quiet, we are more focused and we can listen to others. This in turn allows us to work better. What happens when we have a quiet mind? When we have a quiet mind, we feel happy. We discussed that meditation, nama japa, lithika japa are all means of staying calm and being tranquil.
Then we shared the story in Ramayana showing of the power of Rama nama during the time of building the bridge when all of Rama's army had to cross over to Lanka to fight with Ravana and his army.
5. During Story time, through the story of The Turtle Who Did Not Listen - we learnt why its important to be quiet at times.
6. And through story of the Spider, we learnt that we need to Be quiet to Excel
7. Then we played a video from Brain Break Action Videos for Kids- 'Move and Freeze', Kids learnt the need to focused and dance and stay calm when needed. All kids happily participated and we all enjoyed!!
8. Then Attendance was taken- with each kid saying Hari Om when their name was called.
9. After this we discussed with each kid their roles in the monthly play and next few weeks we will be practicing in the regular classes and couple of extra classes might be needed.

10.Then we all joined the 9th grade monthly play, which we all enjoyed and learnt from.
It was another wonderful session with kids actively participating. And thank you parents for sitting through the session. Please help your kids practice their lines, record it and send us the video.
