Following this we revised the lines from the pledge that we have completed thus far. We also took the opportunity to revisit the stories from our last session that focused on sacrifice, giving more than what we consume, and focus on the lord of virtue courage and wisdom:
We discussed the story of Golden Mongoose and how the poor school teacher's sacrifice was more powerful than that of the yagna performed by the Kings after the Mahabharata war.
And we also touched upon the story of Prahlad, King Hiranyakashipu & Narasimha avatar
Following this we read a new line from the pledge: May Thy grace and blessings flow through us to the world around us. We discussed this with the example of the Flute and the Dandia stick. How one has to be hollow like the flute, and allow God to flow and work through us. Just like how the air flows through the flute to make beautiful music.
Following this we took an exercise break.
Standing on the toes and raising the hand while breathing in and breathing out
Then we stood on one leg, the other leg folded behind and held in one hand, and raising the other hand up.
Finally we performed some crazy jogging / jumping on the same spot, shaking our hands and heads in any direction: -). This definitely got some energy back into the children
Some children had some questions on how they were going to perform the Alphabet recording. So we once again showed the children alphabet safari recordings from last year, to enable them to start their recordings for the alphabets. The children have been assigned alphabets as per this spreadsheet. Parents please record your individual Alphabet Videos and drop them in the file folder location as shown in the sheet. If you are recording using a phone please make sure it is horizontal view
We have now started watching a wonderful Hanuman movie in small portions and followed by 5-10 min discussion.
As we made some changes to the script The children were introduced to the script of play that we are going to try and perform for our annual performance. Each child read their portion of the script as first read through. PLEASE NOTE: For the play, we will connect with the parents shortly for how we are going to record.
As we ran out of time for our class coloring session, we have requested the children to work on this during the week and show it to us next class:
We closed out with our closing prayer & Aarti .
Next Session Agenda
