Hari Om Parents!
Today was the nineteenth class of Balavihar!! Here is the summary of what we covered in class today:
After everyone joined the Zoom session:
1. We started the class with Opening prayers. The opening prayers were led by three kids who chanted Om three times and then chanted Sahana vavatu and we all joined.
2. For today's class we had planned to cover the next three letters X , Y and Z.
3. Then we introduced the letter of the day as 'X- Excellence is to do something outstandingly well'.
4. During the Exploration session, we discussed to achieve excellence we need plenty of practice, dedication, and perseverance. And discussed about Swimming ,cycling activities which though take time to learn, but we can excel with practice.
5. During Story time, through the story of Thomas Alva Edison, we learnt how Edison built the light bulb and how he was wrong 1000 times and succeeded the 1001th time which shows 'Perseverance succeeds'. And when asked about his failures, he said with a positive attitude and conviction that he knew he would succeed, and said he now knows a thousand ways of how not to make an electric light bulb.
6. Then through the story of the Big Frog and the Small Frog, we learnt that 'We should never give up and always keep trying'
7. For Yoga, we did Jumping Jacks ,Tree Pose, and Rainbow Pose.
8. Then we introduced the next letter of the day 'Y is for Yajna' - is a fire ritual performed to please God. Its a special prayer performed to please God, with special Shloka chanting and offerings put into the scared fire. And discussed about the Yajna spirit is working together for a common cause with dedication, sacrifice, and service.
9. During Exploration time, we discussed examples of Yajna spirit : how Gandhiji's and his followers worked hard for India's freedom, Mother Theresa worked for the downtrodden people, And how all the scientists and doctors worked hard and created the vaccine for Corona virus to help mankind.

10. Then we introduced the next letter of the day as 'Z-Zeal is doing things with great passion, enthusiasm, fervor, and eagerness'
11. During Exploration time, One of the kids showed us, his newly built football game toy set which he and his dad built - which showed passion and eagerness. And we told kids, small projects like this help us build our passion and enthusiasm. And for the Alphabet chant we chanted 'Bal Vihar Zindabad'.
12. After this, Attendance was taken.
13. We concluded the class and then all of us joined the 4th grade monthly program which we all enjoyed.
It was another wonderful session with kids actively participating. And thank you parents for sitting through the session to help the kids and for your participation.
Please note we don't have Balavihar classes on March 28th and April 4th due to Spring Break and Easter. Our next class is only on April 11th.
