Hari Om Parents!
Today was the eighteen class of Balavihar!! Here is the summary of what we covered in class today:
After everyone joined the Zoom session:
1. We started the class with Opening prayers. The opening prayers were led by two kids who chanted Om three times and then chanted Sahana vavatu and we all joined.
2. For today's class we had planned to cover three letters U , V and W.
3. Then we introduced the letter of the day as U - Unity is to join hands and work together to help each other.
4. During the Exploration session, we discussed about Unity in Body, All body parts are different. They look different, they function differently. Yet, they all work together. This is called Unity in Diversity.
5.For Activity time, Kids were asked to do the activity, and learn that 'Hold hands to work together ' - this is called Unity.
6. During Story time, through the story of the Four Cows, we learnt that 'We have a far better chance of protecting ourselves from an enemy if we stand together'. And United we stand, Divided we fall.
7. For Yoga, we did Jumping jacks ,Tree Pose, Lion Pose and Butterfly Pose.
8.And then few of the kids lead the Hanuman Bhajan.
9. Then we introduced the next letter of the day V is for Victory- is when you attain your goal. To be victorious, work hard and always speak the truth. And we discussed small and big goals and how kids can be victorious.
10. During Storytime, through the story of the Marathon Race, we learnt, that its not always about being victorious, it's about winning together and being considerate to each other.
11. During Exploration time, we learnt about the Emblem of India and what it represents and the inscription states 'Satyameva Jayate - Truth alone Triumphs'.
12. Then for Quiet time, we did Body Scan Meditation and everyone stayed quiet and relaxed.
13. After this, Attendance was taken.
14. Then we introduced the last letter of the Day W - Work is effort directed to produce or accomplish something. And that Dreaming about something will not get us what we want. We have to work
hard to be rewarded. We discussed few day to day scenarios where hard work is helps and get us what we want.
15. During Story time, through the story of The Ant And The Grasshopper - we learnt that We must work hard in order to play and enjoy.
16. After this, few of the kids to chant Geeta verses 3 and 4 independently and one of the kids chanted all five verses as well.
17. For Exit ticket, kids were asked to complete the Coloring sheets and Activity sheet.
18. And then concluded the session after chanting the Closing Prayers, and few kids lead the Closing Prayers.
It was another wonderful session with kids actively participating. And most of the kids were on time inspite of the time change last night. And thank you parents for sitting through the session to help the kids and for your participation.
