Hari Om Parents,
It was very good seeing the kids in class today, after a two week break.
We started the class with opening prayers and Om chanting.
We revised the Guru Sthotram today by playing a word jumble game on wordwall.
Before starting the next lesson in the new year, we wanted to do a good recap of the lessons we did in 2020.
The kids learnt many stories from the Bhagavatam and other sources that teach us a value or a moral. Today it was the kids' turn to tell us some of those stories that they learnt. We gave them prompts, which were basically the values learnt and they had to narrate a related story.
Some of the prompts and stories were -
-Do not let the mind be idle - Genie and the mind story
-Have a firm resolve - Dhruva story
-What you give is what you get - Pariksit and Sage Samika story
-As you sow, so shall you reap - Pigeon and ant story
-Do not be proud/arrogant - Hiranyaksha, Jaya & Vijaya and the rabbit/tortoise stories
- Think positively and have faith in God - Feast in the heaven story
-Have a complete picture - Elephant and six blind men story
-See work as worship - Sage Narada and the farmer story
-Loving God is devotion - Saint Soordas story
We were very happy to see that the kids remembered all the stories and narrated them with enthusiasm.
Today we also revised all the Gita Shlokas until shloka 14 and proceeded to learn 15 and 16. The link to the video is
Our next Balavihar session will be on January 24th, 2021.
We look forward to seeing the kids in the next class!
