Dec 13, 2020 - Kindergarten (Sunday AM)

Hari Om Parents!

Today was the ninth class of Balavihar!! Here is the summary of what we covered in class today:

After everyone joined the Zoom session:

1. We started the class with Opening prayers by chanting Om three times and then we all together chanted Sahana vavatu, followed by Ekadantam- Ganesha bhajan led by one by the kids.

2. We had a new kid from PM class join us from today,  so we spent sometime giving a brief overview of the curriculum and the class pattern.

3. Attendance was taken by each kid saying Hari Om when their name was called out.

4. During Memory time , few Kids individually chanted the Ganesha Bhajan and Krishan Bhajan and then we all chanted together.

5. We spent sometime discussing answers to the Interview with Dad questionnaire, kids excitedly shared the answers and we had a lively chat and kids shared how to say 'Dad'  in different Indian languages.

6. Kids were introduced the next letter 'F' - it stands for Friendship and its a feeling of mutual affection and respect.

7. In the Brainstorming session, we discussed about who is a Friend ? and what does Friendship actually mean? And by going through various scenarios kids were taught
that we help our friends, be nice to them, talk to them sweetly and care for them. We don't talk bad to our friends and don't be mean to them as well. And that God is our Friend and he is always within us.

8. During story time, we listened to the story of Lord Krishna and his dear friend Sudama. We learnt about how wonderful their friendship was and how much they loved and respected each other and how Lord Krishna helped Sudama without Sudama asking for anything from the Lord. By this story we learnt that, a true friend always helps without even being asked.

9. Then we had Yoga time - kids led yoga session by doing the tree pose, tiger pose and butterfly pose. One of the kids taught all of us a new pose - rainbow pose.

10. After this, some of the kids chanted Geeta verses 1 and 2 individually. And then we chanted both verses together.

11. Kids were then asked to color the 'F' Coloring sheet as homework. Kids were asked to come up a story based on the coloring sheet picture for next week. And write a few qualities about their best friend for next class.

12. Lastly, we said the closing prayers and concluded the session.

Another exciting session with our wonderful kids. We are really impressed and proud of our kids and love their active participation. Parents, please continue to encourage kids to learn the Bhajans and Geeta verses. And thank you dear parents for sitting through the session to help the kids.

Have a wonderful week ahead!!
