Hari Om Parents,
Activities this week included Bhagwatam story, chanting, riddle, spot the difference, kahoot game and lesson from 24 gurus book.
Bal Vihar class proceeded in the following order.
1)We started with opening prayers-Om Sahana Vahvatu prayer. First child chanted all four verses and the rest of the children recited the fourth verse.
2) Started the 3rd chapter of the book Krishna, Krishna.
Continuing from chapter 2nd which is the story of King Parikshiit and the sage Rishi Sukhdevji guiding the king to liberate himself by reading Bhagwatam and following its principles. King starts to read Bhagwatam about mother Earth who is being harassed by Asuras. Mother Earth approaches Lord Brahma, who along with Lord Shiva advises mother Earth to plead to Lord Vishnu about her grief. She visits lord's abode in the ocean and he promises to soon be born as Krishna to Devaki and Vasudeva and free her from all the evils. Devaki and Vasudeva get married and Devaki's brother the assura Kamsa rides them in a chariot across jubilations on the streets when a voice thunders from heaven about the eight child killing Kamsa. Shocked by this prophecy, Kamsa wants to kill his sister Devaki when Vasudeva convinces him to not kill her…
3)The narration was followed by a kahoot game where questions were asked from past lessons conducted during the class. Children really enjoyed this game. The winner and the runner-up were advised to be humble and the kids who got only a few wrong were told not to get discouraged.
4) Next game which was played was about spotting the difference between two different posters of Krishna on Kaliya Nag. There were subtle differences in the posters that they had to spot and identity. Kids really enjoyed the game. A riddle was asked by Roopaji which the kids very enthusiastically participated in.
4) 1st, 2nd 3rd and 4th verses from Damodara strotram was recited by children.
5) Pronunciation of verses from Bhagwat Gita were recited by them, guided by Swami Shantananadaji.
6) Roopaji then conducted an interactive activity with the kids based on 24 teachers' book about one of the most important elements which Bhagwan provides to us for free and what can be learnt from that element. The element is "Air".
7) We concluded with Aarti and Chinmaya missions pledge.
