As a continuation of our stories and learnings from last week's session we watched a short video how one can see God with a sweet mind, have a helping nature and be kind to others. We watched a video and discussed what the children learnt from the story.
We played a short game of jumping jacks to get some energy back into the class after our video
The children then learnt the first Alphabet - A. We discussed the story of Drona's school and how his student who wanted to 'aspire' to be the best archer, focused on the bird's eye and ignored everything else to achieve his goal.
We played a short game 'Simon says'. The game is still new to some of the children. Hopefully we will get them all to learn in a week or 2
We followed this with another short sloka
Eka Dantam,Maha Kayam
Lambho Daram Gajananam
Vighna Nasham Karam Devam
Herambam Pranamamyaham
The children performed some Likhita japa by coloring their first picture of our session
Then we discussed the second Alphabet B - Brotherhood, with a story of the crayons. How a bunch of angry crayons, always fighting, ended up living together in a little girls crayon box, after they saw the beautiful & colorful drawings they were able to create with all their different colors. And just like the crayons, how we should also aspire to understand our differences and strive to live with each other peacefully
Closing prayers: We recited the closing prayers
om sarve bhavantu sukhinah
sarve santu niramayah
sarve bhadrani pashyantu
Ma kaschid dukhabhagbhavet.

And we finally closed with Aarti
