9/18 Class Update

We started the class with a brief greeting each other and about the curriculum for the grade. The main courses will be Mahabharata - Part 1 and the book India, the Sacred Land.

Mahabharata
We told the Mahabharata story, started with the Aadi Parva and covered the introduction of the kuru clan, the Pauravas until the birth of Dhritarashtra, Pandu and Vidura. we had prepared a presentation of the family tree showing the characters introduced so far. We are very happy to see that some of the students already are familiar with Mahabharata.

India, the Sacred Land
We started the 'Saints of India' with an activity where the children could type on a post-it note each, their understanding of who a 'Saint' was. We have also requested the children to choose any two Saints and present them to the class. The presentation could be a power point presentation, video or just a talk about the Saints.

Bhagavad Gita
As an introduction to Gita chanting, we watched a presentation on pronunciation guidance during class. The students got to practise the sounds along with the video. The curriculum for this year is Gita - Chapter 2, verses 1 to 30.

Parents, please have the kids bring a notebook and a pencil to the next class.
Also, please fill in this survey form to help us make the best of this class and make it interesting for the kids.
